When Pablo was shot by a drunken man in a case of mistaken identity, he became paralyzed from the neck down. Unable to move and take care of himself, he now lives with his mother in a small home where even a mattress is a luxury. He lies motionless on an old sofa, and until our recent visit, had not seen a doctor or nurse in seven years.

We helped Pablo by providing his most urgent needs. In addition to our home medical visit, we gave Pablo a 4″ foam mattress and a medical-grade waterbed. We also purchased urinary catheters and skin care products to prevent bed sores.

We have worked with many paraplegics and quadriplegics in Honduras and with these basic necessities we have made an impact on Pablo’s life.
